Retreat & travel guides

The founder & writer

Ian Pescod

Yoga teacher, writer, retreat organizer and founder of Yoga Around The World.

A practice rooted in experience

I’m Ian Pescod. I teach yoga, write, and organize retreats in Panama. I founded Yoga Around The World to bring together the places, people and practices that make retreat travel meaningful.

Over more than ten years of teaching Hatha, Vinyasa and Ashtanga, my work has taken me into different communities and different ways of practicing. My teaching experience includes Panama and Vienna, with retreat organizing centered in Panama.

Teaching, training & continued study

My foundation includes a 200-hour Ashtanga Vinyasa teacher training, followed by further studies in Mysore, Goa, Bali and Costa Rica. These experiences form part of an ongoing education—not a claim that learning ends with a certificate.

For me, a yoga retreat is more than a location or a full schedule. The teacher, the rhythm of the days and the space to reflect all shape the experience. That perspective informs both my teaching and the guides I write here.

Writing & Losing Touch

I’m the author of Losing Touch: Reflections on Addiction, Self-Inquiry and Love. Its themes of self-inquiry, addiction and love sit alongside my broader interest in how we relate to ourselves and the world around us.

Why Yoga Around The World

The platform brings my teaching, writing and retreat experience into one place. My guides explore destinations and practical decisions: where to go, what a retreat actually offers, and how to find an experience that fits what you need.
